ESCLUSIVA – Lo Shkendija ospita il Milan. Viaggio tra i Ballistet: “Noi Macedoni? Neanche a parlarne!”

[tps_title]Interview[/tps_title]

The way in which the Shkendija supporters, completely peaceful, highlighted their cause, led us, since the arrival to Milan, to talk to some ultras heads. And the result is a wonderful interview. To get into the ultras attitude is extremely difficult, especially as regards the story of this group, old-school ultras. We offer the interview made to the representative of the history of this group. And he wants to remain anonymous.

  • I read about the history of the club. Fk Shkendija has always had a strong relationship with Albania. I read that one of your ultras, Ismail “Ballista” Morina, was arrested in Croatia and he will be handed over to Serbian authorities for the “drone” case during Serbia vs. Albania. What do you think about this fact? What is your relationship with the Macedonian public opinion?

“Shkendija is an Albanian club and we always had the respect from Albania and Kosovo. Ismail ‘Ballist’ Morina is from Kukes Albania  – the way Albanian government has treated Morina is a fucking disgrace we are very angry about it but nothing we can do as he’s still in Croatia. If he ends up in Serbia it won’t be good for anyone. We don’t have any relationship with Macedonian public at all, we hate their guts and wish them the worst as they do for us.”

  • What is it for you fk Shkendija? It’s not just a simple team for you.

“KF Shkendija for us is everything; I mean everything is our air and our food. For Shkendjja we are ready to go to jail and even to die, it has given us more joy than anything else in Ilirida (Macedonia). If you ever come to Tetovo to watch a match vs. our rival Vardar, you will see what it means for us. There are 60/70/80 years old men crying when we win, and there are kids who grow up wishing to play for Shkendija.”

  • Where does the name Ballistet come from? What is its history?

“KF Shkendija was created in 1979 to represent Albanians in Yugoslavia and then Macedonia. The name Ballistet comes from ‘Balli Kombetar’ who were soldiers. The Balli Kombëtar (literally National Front), known as Balli, was an Albanian anti-communist resistance movement and a political organization established in November 1942. The motto of the Balli Kombëtar was: “Shqipëria Shqiptarëve, Vdekje Tradhëtarëvet” (Albania for the Albanians, Death to the Traitors). Ballistet was crated in 1992 by some ultras still going to every Shkendija match either home or away, but this group now has become more than family we work with for every little decision. We are growing from year to year, there is nothing or no one that can stop us.”

  • Vardar, your rival club, has the same team colours and bears the B from the Cyrillic alphabet. What is the reason for this rivalry?

“For them we are ‘FEAR’: whenever they hear ‘Ballistet’ they can’t sleep for days. They are Macedonians and backed by Macedonian government – we hate each other.”

  • How will you welcome Milan at home, the Ecolog Arena?

“The Ecolog Arena is not done yet should be done in 2/3 years. We are playing in Skopje Telekom Arena. It’ll be fine for Milan no problems at all, Milan was too good to us.”

  • As to Kumanovo terrorist attacks occurred in 2015, what is your position on the UCK? (Kosovo Liberation Army KLA)

“Kumanovo was a very clever set up to get rid of all the remaining feared soldiers by Macedonia. Those brave men who got killed that day in Kumanovo were wanted by MAC GOV for the war that happened in Macedonia in 2001 –  so they told them come to Macedonia and we’ll forget everything you will be cleared to live a normal life. As soon as they crossed the border Macedonian Army started attacking them so they run into that street in Kumanovo and got killed. Our ultras helped with the war in Kosovo in 1998/99 and the war in Macedonia in 2001. We don’t have any connection with them but if there is an ear we are the first to be there and help.”
